Location type
'Villa Patarinho' is located on the outskirts of Tavira, in the Eastern Algarve region of Portugal. Apartment 1 is one of five apartments of the villa. The Villa Apartments are just 2 Km from Tavira town centre. Faro Airport is only 30 minutes drive to the west. The Spanish border is 30 minutes east. Kitchen
Modern kitchenette has the following: Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Vito-ceramic electric hob, Toaster, Kettle, Juicer, Cutlery, Plates, Bowls, and Saucepans etc

Living room
This is part of the kitchenette and living area is equipped with a wall-mounted TV with Satellite (TV and radio channels) and a DVD player. A comfortable sofa-bed and coffee table completes this space

Dining room
The dining area has a dining table which comfortably seats 3 adults. The door leads out to the terrace.

Bathroom
The fully tiled bathroom has an enclosed shower, washbasin, WC, a bidet and a towel rail. Towels are provided for use in the apartment.

Bedrooms
The bedroom is light and airy with two single beds and bedside tables, built in wardrobes and has air-conditioning. There is also a door leading to the terrace. A travelling cot is available, if required, at no extra cost. All bed linen is provided.

Entertainment
Apart from the TV and DVD equipment in the living room, there is a small selection of books and DVDs, some board games and a range of toys for young children. This selection is kept in the hallway and shared by all guests. A trampoline (3 meter diameter) is in the garden, for young children.

Outside space
The apartment terrace has a table, chairs and parasol. A clothes horse is provided.
The garden is grassed around the two pools: adult size (salt water; 6mX12m) and a toddler pool (3mx3m). Sun loungers are dotted around the pool area. Barbecue facilities are also provided in the garden area. Each apartment is provided with barbecue cooking utensils.

Laundry
The laundry room is a shared facility and includes a washing machine. There is a small charge for using this amenity. A clothes-horse is provided with the apartment. An iron and ironing board is also provided in each apartment.

Leisure facilities
Tavira has an excellent Leisure centre with three swimming pools and five tennis courts. The Leisure centre is about 5 minutes drive. A cycle/skate park for public use is also provided by the local council. It is about 3 minutes drive form the Villa apartments.

Restaurants
Tavira has a range of excellent restaurants ranging from the traditional Portuguese cuisine, sea food restaurants, Continental type restaurants, Indian and Chinese. Numerous cafes offer light snacks.

Distance from airports/ports
The nearest airport is Faro which is 30 minutes drive from the apartment. Other nearby airports include airports in Spain: Seville Airport (2 hours drive) and Jerez Airport (about 2.5 hours drive).

A beach- pack comprising a cool box, ice packs, 2 beach towels, and a parasol is available for hire.

Block Bookings: The five apartments can also be rented together as one single booking (maximum of 23 people sleeping). This might be a possibility for family/friends reunions, weddings or even celebrating a special occasion (an anniversary, a birthday or Christmas).

Also available for hire is the Function Room for such occassions.

Suitability
The apartment is suited for couples, families with small children and adults who don’t mind sharing a bedroom. There is an extrra charge for addtional persons of £10 per person per night sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge.

Testimonials
We stayed at Villa Patarinho for a few days during September 2008 - Narinder and Andrea made us very welcome. The location and environment was ideal for us - close to the facilities of Tavira, but in a peaceful area with a super pool and gardens. The apartment was spacious, clean and well-equipped and, as we had expected from the description, everything was new. It was a good base for touring the region (by motorbike!); we enjoyed a long walk in the Ria Formosa park, near Olhao, and explored the coastal towns and villages between Faro and the Spanish border, which varied in character from concrete jungle (Monte Gordo) to relatively unspoilt fishing village (Santa Luzia). We shopped at the larger Tavira supermarkets (Aldi and Lidl are close) and self-catered, but the excellent 'welcome pack' provided many of the basics. We hope to return sometime in the future!
