Restaurants
Restaurants abound in Tavira, especially during the summer. Most offer a wide selection of locally-caught sea food, though many have meat dishes as well. Chinese and Indian food is also available. A suggested selection of some of the best local restaurants and their locations are contained in our full colour prochure - available on request. English is widely spoken in the restaurants, shops and bars.
Distance from airports/ports
The Algarve's only airport is in Faro, about 25 minutes by car from Tavira. Some local ferry services run from Faro but the nearest large Portuguese port is in Lisbon. Ferries to Morocco and north Africa run from Algeciras in Spain and Gibraltar is two hours away by car.
